Here the little guy appears to be contemplating a worldly question- his next feeder visit, or the best perch, perhaps. Calliope Hummingbirds are quite rare in the Carolinas. As far as I know, there are under 10 records in the state of North Carolina, and likely under 5. Thanks to Barbara Edwards and Frank Parker for opening their home and yard to strangers wishing to see this incredible wanderer!
