Plain-capped Starthroat
A Group of these rare hummingbirds, Mexican vagrants, showed up at Santa Rita lodge in Madera Canyon July-August 2014. The incomplete gorget suggests juvenile; unlike most North American hummingbirds the adults are not sexually dimorphic.
