About Me

I am 15 years old and began birding at age 12.  I'd always liked being outside, but never really started birding until I met my neighbor across the street who was a long time birder.

Wikipedia is your friend in these situations! Also a camera and tablet is helpful to record those unknown birds and songs! Blackcaps are really annoying, they sing very loud but are super-sulkers! And like my blog post, field notes are super helpful.

Haha, hopefully you get to go to Europe too! Italy wasn't the best, I only saw 49 species total there. The birds are really shy and don't respond well to pishing.

I got to go to Italy twice (last summer and this summer). It wasn't a birding trip (it was for family) but I didn't hesitate to check out all the European birds! I'm really behind in uploading pictures but I haven't got this years photos on the site yet. I think there should be a link to m Flickr page; if not, here it is: https://www.flickr.com/photos/saphine/
